Duty of Care Course and Workshops
'DUTY OF CARE' A CERTIFICATE COURSE IN STUDENT RESIDENTIAL CARE
This course is designed to be a practical course which can be successfully completed by most adults involved with the residential care of school children. As such the course will be useful for those in positions such as matron, tutor, house-parent, teacher or GAP student. The course is designed to establish a national standard of basic knowledge and skills necessary to perform residential care duties effectively.
As she submitted her workbooks to her Head of Boarding recently one staff member said that this had been one of the best types professional training she has been offered in the workplace.

CERTIFICATION OPTION
This book can be marked by ABSA who will issue a certificate of completion at a cost of $100 (incl GST) plus postage and handling for those who have attended an ABSA workshop to complete the books, or $120 (incl GST) plus postage and handling for those who have not. This service is only offered to staff from member schools. Send your books to the ABSA Office and they will be marked and returned to you with an invoice for the cost of marking plus postage.
